Preparing for the week is no easy task with all my new added to-do’s.
and seeing what I have to take with food and what has to be taken first thing. What might interfere with what…it’s a lot.
I’m trying to add only one new thing a week. I can only imagine if I actually add everything? Oh the scheduling nightmare.
I can’t think about it anymore. Let’s get started on the journal.
Day 2
My schedule for the day is pretty identical to yesterday, except I skipped the broccoli sprouts. I just can’t. Maybe this weekend, I’ll try to find a recipe that makes them blend in better.
We had a roast today: baked sweet potatoes and ginger carrots. I’m trying to include more ginger. I took my vitamins and supplements, and I have to say, I had a pretty good day regarding the acid. There’s still some nausea, but it’s nowhere near as bad as before. Last night, I slept 7 hours. That’s got to be a record! I feel like I found the perfect solution: Magnesium Lotion and Melatonin. I’m very calm today, which is an added bonus. Still, after the ups and downs of my AIP diet, I won’t get too excited yet. But it was so nice to have a good day. Maybe the Mastic gum is making a difference, or perhaps it’s the 30-day mark for AIP. I’m not sure, and honestly, I don’t even care. I’m just grateful it was a good day.
Day 3
It’s Day 3, and I got another solid 7 hours of sleep. Although sleep wasn’t my main focus for this experiment, it’s a nice side benefit. Here’s why I added Melatonin and Magnesium:
Melatonin helps by:Inhibiting gastric acid secretion, Controlling the lower esophageal sphincter, Protecting your stomach lining, Assisting with motility
Magnesium helps by:Assisting your muscles to relax, which can help your pyloric sphincter relax as wellNeutralizing stomach acidRestoring magnesium levels depleted by PPIsAside from the great sleep, I felt pretty amazing most of the day. Lunch still knocked me down, but at least I felt decent overall.
Speaking of lunch: Today, I had chicken stuffed with apples, kale, bacon, and onions. Delicious! The only new thing I added was a teaspoon of Manuka honey (20+ UMF). I didn’t notice anything spectacular, but it was tasty.
Day 4
Another great night of sleep. I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. I start my morning routine. Oil pull, brush teeth, take Apple Cider Vinegar, B12 and Zinc. I make lunch and start my breakfast smoothie. Do a light workout, clean up and get ready for work and out the door I go. I felt great, it was easy to accomplish my goals. Then it hit. Exhaustion, Nausea and Acid. My period should start any moment which is when I feel my absolute worst. So I’m hoping this what I’m dealing with.
Afternoon Update: My body was garbage today. My back pain flared as well as all my other symptoms. No period yet so the suffering continues. Hoping tomorrow will be better.
Day 5
Another good nights sleep, but unfortunately not a great day. I struggled with GERD and Nausea all day. The upside is I started my period. So hopefully the suffering will end soon. This week was rough, I don’t want to say that my efforts didn’t work because I know how bad I feel during this week. Next week will be a better indication.
So what did I try this week

Now I’m not saying you should use these. I’m not a doctor, nutritionist or any kind of medical expert. This is my personal experience and I should also tell you I did not use recommended dosages. I took one capsule of each supplement. I always Start small and see how my body reacts. This is my philosophy and it’s worked for me.
Read my next post to see if my symptoms improve.
