I’ve been preparing my plan to start focusing on fixing my GERD. Is it sustainable? I don’t know yet. Keep in mind, I’m not a doctor of any kind, so I’m trying things I’ve researched and that are as natural as possible. It’s a long list of things to do, and it’s added quite a bit to my daily routine, but I’ll adjust as necessary.
I’m working on total digestion, starting with my mouth. I oil pull—yep, it’s not awesome, but I manage to make it 10 minutes, which is much better than I thought I would do. The trick is to stay busy. I put away the laundry from the night before. My mouth does feel clean. I’ve done this before, so I know the drill. I just struggle to stay consistent. I’m also trying a new toothpaste that is much stronger than my last. It’s not a mainstream toothpaste, but I like how my teeth feel after using the dynamic duo. This is the new one
I make my hot Licorice Root tea and have room-temperature water. I take my Protonix and do a light workout of 500 baby bounces on my rebounder and some 3-lb weight arm exercises.
Up next is my morning smoothie with soothing aloe, gut-healing collagen, and life-saving Vitamin D tincture. It also includes potassium-rich bananas, fibrous peaches, full-fat coconut milk, and miraculous honey. I love my smoothie—it’s so delicious and, as a bonus, keeps me full until lunch. I’ve been doing this for the last few weeks as part of AIP, so thankfully it’s not a new step in my process.
Finally, I finish getting ready for work and head out the door. I get 8 ounces of water and make some herbal tea before settling down at my desk to get to work.
Half an hour before lunch, I take my Licorice Root, Slippery Elm, and Marshmallow Root supplements. Unfortunately, I forgot my enzymes, which is not ideal because I’m having steak, and that will be a hard meal for me to digest. I try hard to eat slowly, but I’m not great at it. Still, every few bites, I chew 20 times.
For lunch, I have:
- Steak seasoned with ginger, coconut aminos, and balsamic vinegar
- An orange sweet potato
- A salad with alfalfa sprouts (which I love) and broccoli sprouts (which I’m not a fan of but include because they’re on the list)
I manage to eat only a few broccoli sprouts, but that’s okay.
For my midday snack, I have ginger tea. I’ve been sipping water all day and feel a bit waterlogged. But I have to say, my indigestion is doing better at this point.
When I get home, I pick up the house. I need to start my roast, but I’m tired. I decide to update this post because I’m still accomplishing something while sitting down.
Next up is the roast, digestive enzymes, and an evening snack. Then, I use red light therapy, which feels amazing. I shine it directly on my stomach—it’s relaxing and helps me wind down, even if it doesn’t actively heal anything.
Tonight, I’m trying Mastic Gum for the first time. I’m excited but also nervous. I’m not a fan of trying new things, but the older methods haven’t completely fixed me. They’ve helped to varying degrees, but I want to heal—not just suffer a little less.
To end my day, I:
- Brush my teeth
- Wash my face
- Put on pajamas
- Rub magnesium lotion on my feet
- Take melatonin
- Pray, hoping to improve a little more each day
